Hospital Magazine

“Riverviews” is Riverview Health’s magazine that is published twice a year. While working with Riverview Health, I was required to adhere to strict branding guidelines.

The brand guidelines require that the title, subtitle, logo, and info bar at the bottom remain the same with the exception of the different headlines for each issue. Brand guidelines also require that the blue box with the feature story title be incorporated into the cover image in some way.

For each article, I needed to pick one of the 6 approved colors for the first half of the title in Sentinel Bold and the second half of the title would be Riverview Blue in Sentinel Regular. I also needed to include a drop cap letter at the beginning of the major articles. While picking the colors, I made sure to spread them out so that I didn’t have two of the same color on back to back articles.

I often needed to create infographics for the magazine as well such as the one shown above featuring their new hospital in Westfield. I always ensured that the requested text was still readable and up to brand standards among the graphics.

At the end of the magazine, there is always a spread of all of the upcoming seminars and events. These pages were often a challenge due to the fact that all of the information needed to fit neatly into the space without changing the templated font sizes and leading. It was also important not to leave any large empty spaces while also not splitting up event information across columns.
